Onsemi has announced the acquisition of Aura Semiconductor’s Vcore Power technologies, including the associated intellectual property rights. This strategic move aims to enhance onsemi’s power management portfolio, accelerating its ability to deliver end-to-end power solutions for artificial intelligence applications in data centers, from the network to the core.
Acquiring the Vcore Power technologies allows onsemi to offer differentiated smart power solutions with higher power density, efficiency, and thermal performance. This translates into greater processing capacity per rack, meeting the growing energy-efficient demands of next-generation AI data centers.
Onsemi is integrating Vcore Power technologies into its established portfolio, which includes solid-state transformers, power supplies, 800V DC distribution, and core power solutions. This synergy strengthens onsemi’s position as one of the few companies capable of meeting the strict power requirements of modern AI infrastructures with scalable and practical designs.
The transaction, expected to close in Q4 2025, will have minimal impact on GAAP and non-GAAP earnings per share in the first fiscal year following closing, with positive effects anticipated thereafter.
